Sunflower and her magnificent mowing machine

She cuts down 18 feet at a whack with her two nine-foot bars.

Her mother mowing with similar colors

She has just one nine-foot bar, so only cuts half as much.

Looks like it could rain

But I have along my handy-dandy yellow slicker

The windstorm last night blew two bales up on end. Here is the first one.

And this one, too.

But there is no wind this morning.

In fact it is completely calm so the reflection of the hill shows up in the water of the lake.

Moving some cattle into the next pasture

The way I like to open mineral sacks

If you use the little stringy thingy, there ends up being strings and bits of paper everywhere.

A friend showed me how to open these plastic sacks.

Poke a hole right below the "seam."

Ripping along the seam

In both directions

It works like a dream.

The next one worked just as well.

I used to dread putting out salt from these plastic sacks, but now it is rather fun and challenging.
