Every week it seems someone has a mountain lion sighting to tell me about. There were two adult cats seen last week, one by a landowner in her pasture and one by a couple hunters, both of them within twenty five miles of us. Here's the reported sighting this week that I've posted from my weekly column:
Pay attention, all you folks along the South Grand. Doc said he'd gotten a call telling him that the construction manager for the rural water pipeline was checking the tap just south of the Lutz place on Saturday and found FOUR half grown mountain lion kittens!! Said they were about the size of a medium-sized dog and he got a good look at them before they ran up the butte. Didn't see their mama, but you can be sure she's around. Keep a close eye on your kids and your livestock and if you find anything dead that's been buried, I guess you'll know what killed it.
