Nice Herefords, Nicky. If you could find some blue colored hay to feed them, the red, white, and blue would look pretty patriotic. The red, white, and green makes it look like Christmas. :-)

Nice photos of great cattle. We now have 3 first calve heifers who are Mom, and already have a set of twins, but Mom loves 'em both and is caring for them both.

Thank you for taking the pics and sharing Nicky.

Cheers---

TTB

In talking with everyone, it doesn't sound like this year is as much of a twinning year as last year...Last year everyone was talking about 10-20 sets of twins- and I haven't heard as many advertised on the Tradio for sale....
But it does appear as tho birthweights are going to be higher- getting 80-90 lb calves out of heifers-- sired by bulls that last year were throwing mostly 70-75lb calves.....
But I haven't had any problems-and actually only saw one heifer calving...Saw feet-left her alone for an hour- and came back and she had the calf (an 88 lb bull calf) all licked off..... :D

Edit 3:30PM-- Right after I posted this I checked heifers and had one with a 75lb heifer calf on the ground- and another heifer with feet and nose sticking out trying to steal it...I had only walked thru the corrals an hour earlier, and nothing was happening....Ran the one that was calving in another pen, so she didn't lay down on this calf she was trying to steal- came back 1/2 hour later and she had an 83 lb heifer calf on the ground....

Sure nice to have them coming so easy and fast...Only have 5 more heifers to worry about (KNOCK ON WOOD)....

Sure glad calving is going great for ya. Those cute babies seem to be enjoying the sunshine...ya got the warm temps to go along with it? Thanks...

Great pics..............the blue skies give you, red, white and blue.

just think if ya had Angus.........you'd be "black and blue"
