Most Meaningful Song Ever . . .

]ok can you name the artist and song....I started singing this song as i am leaving this message :D

[Boy:]
I remember every little thing
As if it happened only yesterday
Parking by the lake
And there was not another car in sight
And I never had a girl
Looking any better than you did
And all the kids at school
They were wishing they were me that night

And now our bodies are oh so close and tight
It never felt so good, it never felt so right
And we're glowing like the metal on the edge of a knife
Glowing like the metal on the edge of a knife
C'mon, hold on tight
C'mon, hold on tight

Though it's cold and lonely in the deep dark night
I can see paradise by the dashboard light

[Girl:]
Ain't no doubt about it we were doubly blessed
'Cause we were barely seventeen
And we were barely dressed

[Both:]
Ain't no doubt about it
Baby got to go out and shout it
Ain't no doubt about it
We were doubly blessed

[Boy:]
'Cause we were barely seventeen
And we were barely dressed

Baby don'cha hear my heart
You got it drowing out the radio
I've been waiting so long
For you to come along and have some fun
And I gotta let you know
No you're never gonna regret it
So open up your eyes, I got a big surprise
It'll feel all right
Well I wanna make you motor run

And now our bodies are oh so close and tight
It never felt so good, it never felt so right
And we're glowing like the metal on the edge of a knife
Glowing like the metal on the edge of a knife
C'mon, Hold on tight
C'mon, Hold on tight

[Both:]
Though it's cold and lonely in the deep dark night
I can see paradise by the dashboard light
Paradise by the dashboard light

You got to do what you can
And let Mother Nature do the rest
Ain't no doubt about it
We were doubly blessed
'Cause we were barely seventeen
And we were barely

We're gonna go all the way tonight
We're gonna go all the way
And tonight's the night

[Radio Broadcast:]
OK, here we go, we got a real pressure cooker going here
Two down, nobody on, no score, bottom of the ninth
There's the wind-up, and there it is
A line shot up the middle, look at him go
This boy can really fly
He's rounding first and really turning it on now
He's not letting up at all, he's gonna try for second
The ball is bobbled out in the center
And here's the throw and what a throw
He's gonna slide in head first
Here he comes, he's out
No, wait, safe, safe at second base
This kid really makes things happen out there
Batter steps up to the plate
Here's the pitch, he's going
Amd what a jump he's got
He's trying for third
Here's the throw
It's in the dirt, safe a third
Holw cow, stolen base
He's taking a pretty big lead out there
Almost daring them to pick him off
The pitcher glances over, winds-up and it's bunted
Bunted down the third base line
The suicide squeeze is on
Here he comes, squeeze play, it's gonna be close
Here's the throw, here's the play at the plate
Holy cow, I think he's gonna make it

[Girl:]
Stop right there
I gotta know right now
Before we go any further

Do you love me
Will you love me forever
Do you need me
Will you make me so happy
For the rest of my life
Will you take me away
And will you make me your wife
Do you love me
Will you love me forever
Do you need me
Will you make me so happy
For the rest of my life
Will you take me away
And will you make me your wife

I gotta know right now
Before we go any further
Do you love me
Will you love me forever

[Boy:]
Let me sleep on it
Baby, baby let me sleep on it
Let me sleep on it
And I'll give you an answer in the morning

Let me sleep on it
Baby, baby let me sleep on it
Let me sleep on it
And I'll give you an answer in the morning

Let me sleep on it
Baby, baby let me sleep on it
Let me sleep on it
And I'll give you an answer in the morning

[Girl:]
I gotta know right now
Do you love me
Will you love me forever
Do you need me
Will you make me so happy
For the rest of my life
Will you take me away
And will you make me your wife
I gotta know right now
Before we go any further
Do you love me
And will you love me forever

[Boy:]
Let me sleep on it
Baby, baby let me sleep on it
Let me sleep on it
And I'll give you an answer in the morning
Let me sleep on it

[Girl:]
Will you love me forever

[Boy:]
Let me sleep on it

[Girl:]
Will you love me forever

[Boy:]
I couldn't take it any longer
Lord I was crazed
And when the feeling came upon me
Like a tidal wave
I started swearing to my god
And on my mother's grave
That I would love you to the end of time
I swore I would love you to the end of time

So now I'm praying for the end of time
To hurry up and arrive
'Cause if I gotta spend another minute with you
I don't think that I can really survive
I'll never break my promise or forget my vow
But God only knows what I can do right now
I'm praying for the end of time
So I can end my time with you

[Boy:]
It was long ago and it was far away,
And it was so much better than it is today.

[Girl:]
It never felt so good, It never felt so right
And we were glowing like the metal on the edge of a knife.

Auuuu Meatloaf....awesome song :D

We'd have a blast at high school dances as everyone would sing 'Paradice by the Dashboard Light" together....memories{insert pic of decrepid old girl reliving her youth}

Definitely a great teenager song. All these years later, when I'm with my best highschool friend, if it comes on the radio we still sing along, so picture two decrepit old gals reliving their youth! I'm not sure what happened, but the years have flown!

Isn't that true, just think how OLD we thought our parents were at our age  . Another great sing along song is American Pie,my kids learned that one when they were young and we were driving to hockey games,we'd sing it over and over

He gets up before the dawn
Packs a lunch and a thermos full of coffee
It's another day in the dusty haze
Those burnin' rays are wearing down his body
And diesel's worth the price of gold
And it's the cheapest grain he's ever sold
But he's still holding on

CHORUS
He just takes the tractor another round
And pulls the plow across the ground
And sends up another prayer
He says Lord I never complain I never ask why
But please don't let my dream run dry
Underneath, Underneath this
Amarillo sky

That hail storm back in '83
Sure did take a toll on his family
But he stayed strong and carried on
Just like his dad and grandad did before him
On his knees every night he prays
Please let my crops and children grow
Cause that's all he's ever known

CHORUS
He just takes the tractor another round
And pulls the plow across the ground
And sends up another prayer
He says Lord I never complain I never ask why
But please don't let my dream run dry
Underneath, Underneath this
Amarillo sky

And he takes the tractor another round
Another round, another round
And he takes the tractor another round
Another round
He says I never complain I never ask why
But please don't let my dreams run dry
Underneath, underneath this
Amarillo Sky

Underneath this
Amarillo sky

THAT wasss the sweetest ever,oh still bring tears to my Canuck eyes.

I use to go to about 3 or 4 Blackhawks games a year back when I was 10 or so years old.. Probably for 4-5 years but I just can't remember.. The company my dad worked for had season tickets and they were very good ones at that but he swtiched jobs sometime while I was in HS.... Well, the singer they often use in Chicago is a gentleman by the name of Wayne Messmer.. When I was 18 or so he was shot in the throat and his voice isn't quit the same but his rendition of Oh Canada was something to hear, especially in that old band box, The Chicago Stadium (He would do it at Wrigley field too when the Expos were in towand he just does a good job)/.. But the Star Spangled banner there... Goood god it was just thundering with the accostics in that old place, would send shivers up in down my spine like nobodies business... The Star Spangled Banner does it for my always but still pales in comparision 95% of the time compared to those nights.

Got to see some Olympic Hockey in 88 in Calgary and that was pretty cool to..

Well you don't see him much on the big screen anymore
The kids don't ride along with roy or gene
And that ain't really him with all those feathers in his hat
And some frenchman's name embroidered on his jeans

Chorus:

But he's still out there ridin' fences
Still makes his livin' with his rope
As long as there's a sunset he'll keep ridin' for the brand
You just can't see him from the road

Well he never learned to two step hell he barely learned to walk
But he's worn a lot of leather off the tree
He's had one or two good horses that he counts among his friends
He never drew a breath that wasn't free

Repeat chorus:

Well he's tall in the saddle short on the cash
The last to quit the first to buy the beer
Well he's a knight in leather armor still livin' by the code
That's made him what he's been a hundred years

Repeat chorus:

As long as there's a sunset he'll keep ridin' for the brand
You just can't see him from the road

Joe Nichols I'll Wait For You is a new favorite.

Brown Eyed Girl

Chris Ledoux's "Look at you girl" was my wedding song.

I miss the hell out of Chris.

Help!

I think it was "Earth, Wind and Fire - 1971

The words I recall:
"I've seen Fire and I seen Rain but I always thought I see your Face again!"

As I walked out of the hospital, my wife having just died, it came on my truck radio

By James Taylor? A good song, and I'm sure it really hit home to you in those sad circumstances, OD/NT. Time can change the impact of loss, but it never can make up for it. I hope you have found some healing in the passing years.

James Taylor song (I've been lookin for)

I've seen fire and I've seen rain
I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end
I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that I'd see you again
Won't you look down upon me, Jesus
You've got to help me make a stand
You've just got to see me through another day
My body's aching and my time is at hand
And I won't make it any other way
Oh, I've seen fire and I've seen rain
I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end
I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that I'd see you again

And YES - "God" Looked down on me :!:
The "Supreem Power" helped me make a stand
He/She/It just got to see me through another day

Grandpa Told me so-Kenny Chesney

If you don't get in the water you're never gonna learn to swim
He said a snake is just as scared of you as you are of him
He could tell by the moon when the fish would bite
Seems there was nothing that he didn't know
And as a kid I believed 'cause Grandpa told me so

He talked Daddy into letting me have my first car
I thought I was really something 'til Becky Thompson broke my heart
That first taste of love really did me in
Getting over her slow
And I knew someday I would 'cause Grandpa told me so

He said life is made for you to live
The best love is the love that you give
There'll be times when you wanna hold on but you gotta let go
And I live by those words 'cause Grandpa told me so

I promised him I wouldn't cry when it was his time to leave
That's the only promise I made him I couldn't keep
He smiled from his bed and said we'll meet again
Somewhere down the road
And I believe 'cause Grandpa told me so

He said life is made for you to live
The best love is the love that you give
There'll be times when you wanna hold on but you gotta let go
And I live by those words 'cause Grandpa told me so

He said life is made for you to live
The best love is the love that you give
There'll be times when you wanna hold on but you gotta let go
And I live by those words 'cause Grandpa told me so

Yeah and I still believe
Grandpa told me so
Grandpa told me so
I still believe
Grandpa told me so
I still believe...

When we went hunting on my first hunt when I wasnt just tagging along, after I shot my first deer (whitetail doe in the forest fringe at 20-25 yards) We hopped in the truck, turned the headlights on, turned the radio on, tossed around a few hi-5's a hug, pictures, and some phone calls were made. I called my grandma last and told her I just got my first deer, and still can shoot the buck for grandpa, she was crying and said, "He would be so pruod to have been there, and I know he is watching you". We hung up, and this song played on the radio. Everyone got choked up and tearey eyed. It started drizzling, and after the encounter of mine (first two shots I misjudged and shot over her back at 20-25 yards buit on the third I got her behind the ears) we all agreed grandpa was laughing so hard he wet his pants and was crying from the laughter up there, we toook our time dressing the old doe out, and when we got back, it was definately the most proud night I ever had (up there anyways lol).

Grandpa always seemed to know everything so this song means a lot to me.

go rest high on the mountian

vince gill
he wrote it for his brother woh ahd died.

i heard it for the first time on the radio when i was in a rented car on my way from the airport heading for my fathers who was not expected to live through the night.

You can spend your whole life buildin'
Something from nothin
One storm could come and blow it all away
Build it anyway

You could chase a dream
That seems so out of reach
And you know it might not ever come your way
Dream it anyway

God is great but sometimes life aint good
And when I pray
It doesn't always turn out like i think it should
But I do it anyway
I do it anyway

This worlds gone crazy
And it's hard to believe
That tomorrow will be better than today
Believe it anyway

You can love someone with all you heart
For all the right reasons
And in a moment they can choose to walk anyway
love em anyway

God is great but sometimes life aint good
And when I pray
It doesn't always turn out like i think it should
But I do it anyway
Yeah I do it anyway

You can pour your soul out singin'
A song you believe in
That tomorrow they'll forget you ever sang
Sing it anyway
Yeah sing it anyway

I sing
I dream
I love anyway

I heard this one for the first time yesterday I had to pull my truck over to the side of the road. Anyhow I think I have a new theme song :)

"Girls, girls, girls" - Imagine having that for the ringtones on your cellphone?

Well my one son does as a distinguishing ring for when a certain household with 3 girls calls . . . :lol2:
