It's definately spring on the prairie. Seems the weather changes daily. We've gotten a couple good snows in the past 2 weeks totaling a foot. More snow then we've had all winter.
Only thing is the total moisture out of the snows was just a little over .60. Not complaining but it sure takes a lot of snow to get a little moisture, no runoff but every little bit helps start the grass. Sounds like starting tonight we're in for another round of snowing and blowing, and hard earned moisture.
It was -1 Monday morning when this poem started developing in the back of my mind. So I sat down punched it out on the computer today. Here's what I've been thinking lately.
Mother Natures Dilemma ( or could have called it BLack and White)
Mother natures got a big problem
Worse then other years it seems
She's been struggling lately
Deciding our spring color schemes
For months now it's been dirt brown
Like when I went to bed last night
But as I awoke this morning
The ground was all covered in white
The sun came out and melted the snow
And it turned the ground to black
Then it snowed and we were white again
It's getting so hard to keep track
The other night it was zero,
Today we hit fifty again
Perhaps someone should inform her
There's a thing they call "warm rain"
[/img]
So Mother Nature it's just a suggestion
I don't mind having a white and black ground
Cause trust me it's a whole lot better
Then a constant dusty ol' brown
Try giving us some warm showers
And soon you'll see a sight so keen
Cause if you throw in some sunshine
This prairie will actually turn "Green"
[/img]
I'm sure there's areas that are flooded
Would gladly share their rain
So be a sweetie and just try this thing
And ps:
Quit being such a big PAIN!
  [/img]
