Well, as of this afternoon, i am heading for the cowcamp to hunt muledeer. I drew a limited entry tag for our home unit and it should be a lot of fun. Know the entire unit like my home and have watched some great bucks this summer. Will update ya'll at hunts end or if i manage to thump a good buck. Hoping you all plenty of success as your own hunts approach and looking forward to see how ya do. Best of luck! :D :D :D

I see a lot of people talking about drawing tags, hunting units, and seasons...what is all this stuff??? if you have a gun, see a deer, it must die! plain and simple.

I used to think just like you, but as I mature, I atleast wait until I am close to the right season.

btween the crops destroyed, the fence tore up, and the wave of out of state hunters who think ALL land is PUBLIC land, I have created a great hatred for deer....most get shot when seen..... if the state is gonna "claim" the deer asnd manage them as if they owned them, then the state needs to reimburse me for feeding them all year, and repair my fences and cars when we hit them.....

Deer have evolved into a cash crop for several farmers/ranchers in my area.

Just a couple of years ago we could shoot both a doe and a buck every day of the 75 day season. No tags,no nothing.

Now they have cut it back to 3 bucks per season and a doe each day in the quest for bigger racked bucks for the paying/land leasing hunters.

As with everything else, Just Follow The Money.

I just got back from elk hunting and being an out of state hunter watching a herd of a hundred wreck fence after fence knowone would allow any hunting I say they get just what they deserve. bench and moan about the damage but heaven forbid someone from out of state helps with the problem. We asked for permission and got told no every time. One woman threatend to shoot me so I say wreck fence all you elk..Out of state hunters bring alot of money to areas that we normally would'nt go we spent $1200 on two tags and $1200 on fuel from Mn to Colorado motel room in SD I don't feel on bit bad for anyone who won't allow out of state hunters. From what I see most just want the control.
