From watching the weather reports we knew that the west desert had some heavy rain in the last week or so. It was very evident when we came to the gravel roads headed toward Look Out Pass. The County graders were at work rebuilding the roads along the way. We talked to one grader operator that told us, this was the most destruction he had seen for years. They had been working sense the first of the week and had a lot more to do.
Not being able to find our band of mustangs is getting to be a habit. We checked all the normal places and didn't find any mustangs until we got to The Old Riverbed, which is fifteen miles further along the road than normal. There were twenty two head in this band, far less than the 100 head we found previously.
Puddles along the road that looks like chocolate milk seems to be acceptable.
