We found the first band on the north end of Davis Mountain. There were eleven head. They had split off the ninety head that we have been keeping track of all summer.
Back down on the flats we found about fifty head. The cold wind kept us from having too much fun as we sneaked trough the band. It was so cold they didn't have any interest in fighting.
I don't often see a mare with her ears laid back.
Fifteen miles down the country we found Ol One ear and about fifty head out in the flats. There was a two foot deep gully full of grease wood that they were living off from. Mighty slim picking.
The Old Man himself. Sure was happy to find him again.
Pretty energetic for such a young sprout.
Back in the warm truck we speculated where the twins might be. The were not where we found them last week. We drove up the country and over the ridge, glassed the flats and found five head of dark colored mustangs and two creamellos. Too far away to get to today,, but it made me smile just to know where they are.
