We drove over some back roads/trails that for a while I wished we hadn't. But our luck turned better when we found about thirty head of mustangs chowing down on grass up to their knees. The hillside was steep and the feed really good for the desert. There is seventy head some where that we haven't found yet today.

Friendly Fred and his cousin.

The Family.

Always a little friction in the air.

Peanut was friendly as usual.

The newest baby is looking good and not too far from mom.

One of the neighboring teen agers came over to check him out.

The Dad of the Family gives #4 a lesson on escaping the master. I wonder how long the Dad will allow #4 to hang around the family.

Peanut and mom, just hanging out.

I guess it depends on the kind of winter we have. I think Fred was born in November, in a mild winter. Lets hope it isn't too bad this winter.
Gypsy has had seven colts. She is beginning to show her age. I'd grain her every day if I could. I've gotten pretty close to her, but not close enough to chum her into my pickup yet.

They shouldn't go hungry for a while!

"not close enough to chum her into my pickup yet" - yup, that could get interesting...

Some nice-looking horses there.

That photo of the fighting stallions is spectacular! Maybe partly due to the angle and them being on the horizon, but the way that mane is flying just adds so much to the action of the shot.

Thanks for sharing with us.
