6x6 grossing 165 & 1/8. 21" & 23" beams, a 21" spread, and 10" G2's. Too bad his other tines didn't have the length or he might have made the book. He comes up off of his head a long way before the beams sweep out, which made him look huge while chasing a doe through the brush coming right to me. Dropped him @ 80yds with my Remington 710 in 30-06 on Friday afternoon.

By the time this one was on the ground and my hunting partner knew where we were, there wasn't enough light for a pic. And of course, he was the one carrying the camera. It was a pretty good chase with a bit of everything. Saw one good buck with a doe, and belly-crawled a few hundred yards to get closer, only to have this boy jump out and chase the other buck away, as well as chase the doe back where I'd been sitting in the first place. It all worked out good in the end.

Nice Battle River buck Pure :)

Greg hasn't had a whole lot of chance to get out,and for some reason he said theres tons of American hunters down at the river.....guess that Cassidy boy is bringing them in.

Just before you load it-shine your headlights on it and use your camera flash-they actually turn out pretty good. Field pictures are kind of a must for me lol. Hopefully this foot of snow kicks the rut in a bit stronger up here. I know my two mile loop twice a day is going to be alot tougher walking lol.

PC nice 150 class deer, I wouls guess 156-158 net. Just look for that G4 to be at least 3/4 the length of the G2 and you will be looking at a book deer there are some exceptions that prove the rule but it usally works for me,just a tip if you are going after a book deer. Again Congrats.

If I had had time to estimate his ratio of G4 to G2, I would have clicked the safety back on and walked away. It was one of those things, shoot or let him go. I let one go a few days earlier in the same area because I couldn't get a good look. We saw him a few minutes later through a spotting scope and he makes this deer(165 & 1/8 by the way) look like a Boer goat. Ah well, $h!t happens.

Real big whities don't give you the luxury of a long time to study their horns for sure. Spread fools most people when it comes to judging horns-a wide buck can be pretty deceiving.
