I really enjoyed looking at all the hunting pics on here today- especially those from Northern Rancher and Soapweed- AWSOME- I wish i had a place with that quality of deer to hunt- any chance either of u let fellow cattlemen hunt on your land, hint, hint

Here are pics of some of the deer i got the last 2 years- no monsters but good eatin' We did get one monster on our land back in 93 and haven't seen anything close since. We just shoot whatever we can get a shot at here and consider ourselves lucky.

Got the ones in the first pic this year with my new Marlin 30-30 with peep site- I am into the cowboy guns. Got the ones in the second pic in 05 with my ruger m77 ultra light 30-06.

Those are nice looking deer too-wish I had that Marlin-were just real;ly lucky that some mild winters have really let the deer populations expand. There isn't much access where I hunt and the road warriors and bush pushers can't get at it. If your patient and copyote around long enough you usually can get a shot at a pretty nice buck. Any deer is a good deer just sometimes the deer gods smile on you a bit more.

So in other words- all the nice bucks get pushed to your land after the first couple days of the season? Nice.

Yes- the deer gods really smiled on u this year- I can't say it enough- AWSOME.

I got the marlin for $400 - a $200 trade in. Its the high grade model with the walnut stock. U can get the cheaper version with hardwood stock for around $300 i think- they are great guns. especially in the brush country when u gotta shoot fast. Those peep sites are very accurrate out to 100 yards and beyond.

I bought some but haven't tried it yet. I don't really need it for where i use it but i here it makes a bigger wound channel to drop em quicker.
