My journal entry for Friday, June 28, 1968

I didn't get much pity about staying up last night 'til midnight. Mom hollered for me at 6:30, so I piled out for breakfast.

Dad had me take the flat tire off of the IHC450 to town in the "klunker." Buckles' fixed it, so I just waited. I went over to Weber Equipment to get a tractor drawbar that they had welded and fixed, and then came on home.

Dad and I got the mowing tractor ready to go, and I finished up the tree lot pasture. The outfit was low on hydraulic fluid, and we didn't have any, so things didn't go too smoothly. Also, the back bar kept plugging up.

Snyd drove through about 12:00, so stopped and had dinner with us. I looked at a Snake River map and did yesterday's diary over the noon hour.

Dad, the girls, the hired men, and I went down to the Leach Place in the afternoon. Dad and the girls loaded Ribbon and went to the Fuchser pasture to move cattle. Dad forgot his saddle, so Sandra cowboyed and Dad and Sybil rode in the pickup.

Lloyd, Doug, and I put in a new short stretch of fence between the electric well and Leach's old airplane hangar. We all headed home about 7:00.

Mom had supper ready, so we did chores later. It sprinkled and rained hard for about one minute.

Mom said to put in "the kids are squabbling" (me included). I guess we are a little noisy.
