My journal entry for Monday, November 25, 1968

Today was another school day. I got up at 6:00 and had breakfast. The girls went with me to town. We dropped the car off at the Standard Station to get washed, but as it turned out they didn't have time to do it.

I rode the bus to Gordon and waited around with the rest of the gang for school to start. We started a chapter dealing with exponents in Algebra II. I got the assignment done and did a page in my diary during study hall. We prepared for a test in English to be given tomorrow. Ag was spent discussing diesel systems in tractors.

We ate our lunches. I spent the noon hour reading in "Fun Fair," a collection of jokes from the READER'S DIGEST.

I finally got my panel discussion out of the way in History class. Glenn Gealy, Greg Nielsen, Linda Morsett, and Kendall Retzlaff were the other members of the panel. We talked about the judiciary system. Due to a teachers' meeting, school was turned loose at 2:30.

When we got back to Merriman, the girls and I came right home. Dad and Lloyd were trimming bulls' feet. We changed clothes, and then I got in the horses. I saddled Spot with Sybil's new saddle, and Dad set about taking more Christmas card pictures. We got one sunset picture south of the wood pile. I rode Sassy out after a cow for the bucket calf. We fed the calf, took care of the horse, and Lloyd fed the bulls.
