On Dec. 26th I got the honor of perfoming the marriage ceremony of the wedding of my son John and his long time girlfriend Katy....

Katy coming down the aisle escorted by her Grandpa Elder... (Tears are already flowing  )

Since Grandma and Katys mom were part of the ceremony (unity sand)- she didn't get many pictures of the ceremony...This is the newlywed couple...

"Uncle John" and his two favorite little girlfriends- nieces Chezney and Paityn...These two were just enthralled by Grandpa performing the ceremony and were so busy watching that they were perfect angels...

Grandma Bobbie and I with the newlyweds..

Now its party time- and time to dance the night away...

But some of us- Grandpa included- did not make it into the wee hours...

congrats OT - should be easy for your son to remember his anniversary.

Yep- thats what I told him...Grandma and I got married on July 3rd- and that has saved my bacon more than once in not forgetting an anniversary...But like Grandma says- we spent almost every anniversary at some rodeo...

They have been working on this wedding idea for some time (been going together for over 5 years- last year talked of eloping to Vegas during the NFR)- it just worked out that the biggest bunch of their friends, relatives, and folks they wanted at the wedding could make it during the holidays best...Only one Bridesmaid couldn't make it because of the ND storms- but she had a standby that fit the dress...
Only problem the son had is that the red vest he ordered to be just like the Best man and groomsman wouldn't fit over his 6'3" 280 lb frame without ripping when he flexed-- so he had to go with a quickly altered Tux- and his new boots hurt his feet so he wore his tenny runners...Like I told them- main thing is to be comfortable and have a good time.....

Tommorrow I stick my sister on the plane back to Texas- and hopefully things will come back to ordinary around here...Tonight we got together to try and eat up all the leftovers from all the get togethers we've had over the past 5 days...And I definitely know how a stuffed turkey feels..

nice sneakers! Now why didn't I think of that when I got married?

Congrats to your son and daughter-in-law, OT!

Congratulations, Oldtimer. It was a very special day, and even more so because you got to "do the honors." Glad so many friends and family were able to be on hand for the big event. Thanks for the pictures.

Thanks for sharing your families big day. Makes for an unforgettable Christmas season.

Poor fella. HE sliped up and let a woman get papers on him.
Congrates OT and thanks for the pictures.

Love the dress, beautiful!!!!! Also like the sneakers. With our daughters wedding I put on sneakers for the dance, little did I know the groom's father also decided to have sneakers on. We had a good laugh and both were very comfortable.

Congratulations, Oldtimer!! Best wishes to your son and his wife. I think it is really neat that you married them. I hope the day stands out as being terrific.
