Where I Am
Well, another week has come to an end. This one was fairly uneventful, a fact which I ought to be thankful for considering the last couple weeks. This week we had two very nice days and one 70º day with NO wind. For February in CO, that is almost unheard of. Thank fully, I wasted almost none of those beautiful days indoors. I got outside and went to clipping on two if my four 4-H steers. I attached one pic looking down the top of one, but I will get some more pictures later on today of the two if them. I had to "freehand" a lot on their necks and did a lot of blending in the same manner due to me missing a blending blade, but they turned out OK. All in all, life is good and my only first calf heifer is getting ready to have a baby. She's bursting at the seams and is bagging up a little alreay. Hopefully between now and the sixth of March, there will be a nice little EXT baby on the ground. In this case, I might have to be more concerned about the calf running me over than the mom.

Hey now! I am very, very proud of my terrible clipping job! :D Boy, BMR, you ought to se some of the calves at the local shows. About 3 inches of hair covering their entire body. Mine are pretty near naked compared to them.

UPDATE!!!
It is actually SNOWING here!!!! Yea, maybe it's only a little tiny skiff, but any sort of moisture is well received here. Tell you Canadians what:
You send us some freezing weather and snow, and we'll send up 50-70ºF days and no moisture what-so-ever.

Well, I put some nice oil and conditioner in his hair to help him stay warm and to keep his skin healthy so that he doesn't get any dandruff. :P  Anyway, I'll have you know that he got 3rd place out of 6 calves today and weighed in at 767# this morning. Did pretty well for being 100% Angus and going up against all the Maine and Chi "clubby" calves.

Congrats. :D It's must be all the "EXPERT" advice you get on ranchers.
