Hi all,
Been off these things for a while until I came back with a breeding question. Yet again. :wink: However, I think I have that pretty well resolved. The week of april 20th, I attended A.I. school at Akron, CO. Harold Miller put on the school at his place and, as of last December, has trained over 5,000 students. After a little trouble days 2 and 3, I think I've finally got it. I bought a few open Registered Angus to either add to my herd or breed and sell later on. I bought a bred heifer out of OCC Homer, and I think she'll also make a pretty fine addition to my herd. So far, I believe we have 9 LimFlex™ baby calves, and I couldn't be more impressed. Dad and I are suckers for cool looking calves with muscle, and these calves fit the bill. Plus, I dabble a little in the clubby industry where LimFlex™ are starting to become pretty popular. Hopefully, we'll be able to sell some high dollar calves this fall.
I've got a black baldie heifer and a black heifer calf outta this cross so far, and they ought ta make me a good couple cows. Also, after meeting Mr. Miller, I know where to go to for breeding advice for my clubby cattle. Dad is actually pretty hot on those Lim heifers, and I think I might finally have him drug into the club calf business. Sorry BMR, gonna ruin the world with some more of them darn poodles. 
On the other hand, I'm keeping my good Angus and AngusXHerf cows because they are a great base for clubbies and the more moderate and easy doing they are, the better. Muscle and style can get added in pretty easy and my "soggy" cows have got me a great base. Sis and I have our small animals for the 4-H year now. I've got a hog and she's got herself a couple lambs. Poor dad. First clubbies and now pigs and sheep!
