Nebraska Recruiting Slipping

I have Sayers as my pick for best running back of all time. Guess I just like pretty good Nebraska football players. If Nebraska ever raises a 5* running back, I hope he plays half as good as Sayers and for the same team.

if there were a 5* back out of Nebraska, there would be a BUNCH of schools after him.....do you really think he would pick KU???

Terry Connealy came from a very stong Nebraska football supporter he was destined to go there! :-)

Ok I don't know much about football but I have heard talk that Nebraska really missed out this year on a player that ended up and went to Chadron State college and was outstanding there.........ok somebody help out with the name...........

It was said this year by many that Chadron State could have whooped Nebraska.

Latest news;
Josh Williams is back in
Josh Williams, the defensive end from Denton, Texas, is back on the Nebraska commitment list.

Williams, 6-feet-4 and 220 pounds, was originally committed to NU before switching to Colorado after the coaching change.

He visited Lincoln over the weekend on an unofficial visit and was impressed by the coaching staff's passion.

"I mean, I felt real good about the new staff and new guys," Williams told the Journal Star. "They have a lot of energy flowing through that place."

Williams told Bo Pelini, Ted Gilmore and Mike Ekeler of his commitment on Sunday. With him back in the fold and Collins Okafor announcing he's staying with Nebraska, the Huskers currently have 18 known commitments.

Williams had offers from Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Kentucky and Missouri.

About Pelini, Williams said: "He's a wild guy. He's impressive. He sounds like he knows what he's doing."

Williams also said he's not going to be changing on this commitment.

"Man, it was really tough to go through that," he said of Nebraska's coaching change. "You're thinking it was all over with, that you're done and you knew where to go. Then the coaching staff gets fired."

LINCOLN — This time, Josh Williams says he's finished with recruiting.

"No more," he said. "I'm all done."

The defensive end from Denton, Texas, committed to Nebraska over the weekend — for the second time. Williams, 6-foot-4 and 220 pounds, first accepted an NU offer last summer. He switched his pledge to Colorado in December after the hiring of coach Bo Pelini at Nebraska.

"(Nebraska) was the place where I wanted to be," Williams said Monday. "I started building a relationship with the new coaches, and it worked out."

Williams paid his own way to Lincoln Friday, driving eight hours after he used his official visit in September to watch the Huskers play Southern California.

"It was kind of a last-minute thing," he said. "I just wanted to get a feel for the coaches. I wanted to be around those guys."

He said he felt comfortable immediately with Pelini and his brother, defensive coordinator Carl Pelini.

His second switch was a hit with the coaches, he said.

"Man, they were all real excited," Williams said.

Williams was one of nine players — including four who picked Colorado — to de-commit from Nebraska in December.

The return of Williams gives Nebraska 18 known oral commitments. Signing day is Feb. 6.

This is good news for the Huskers, I guess, only cause I don't know anything about the kid.

Keep us posted on those other 8 kids that backed out.

Can't imagine them picking Colorado over Nebraska. :???:
