Hey there. We're heading for a bull sale in Maple Creek, and want to go down tomorrow night. Never been there, don't know where to stay, and can't get a hold of the guy putting on the sale. Does anybody have any recommendations? I've tried a couple hotels I found on the town website, but talking to their staff over the phone was enough to make me want to take the pup tent.

Purecountry; You can try Jack's on the highway just on the north side of town........rooms are OK, priced reasonable and they have a lounge and restaurant. Been lots of bull sale parties in that place over the years. Sorry don't have a phone #

Pure Country, I am going to help you out the best I can, just as some lovely Alberta women did for us. We were on a tour with the higher ups from Montana State University, looking at agriculture in Alberta and Sask and ended up spending the night in Lethbridge. At a steak feed hosted by the local feedlot owners a friend and I asked some of the wives present where is a good bar to have a drink and be able to talk to one another over the noise. They all told us that our husbands go to "such and such" so that is where we went. When we got three taxis to come pick us up, the driver of our car started laughing out loud, here was a large group of Americans going to this strip bar, but he said this is the good night, no cover so you can get in free. See if I ever take the advise of Canadian women again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sw- You should know better than take advice from Mrs. Greg and Shelly- they're also the ones that told us they spend their recreational hours playing "bumdarts"...  :P :P :P

SW, if I find a strip bar in Maple Creek, I can't imagine what'll be stripping and sliding up & down the pole. :P

Thanks Cowsense. Jack's is where we're going to be staying, only it ain't Jack's anymore. It's been bought out, and now it's the Maple Creek Motor Inn. Sounds real good, and a good rate. We ought to do fine, we're going to be getting there late, and up early to see the bulls as much as possible before sale time on Saturday.
