I agree with Denny. I think this year is probably just your turn for some bad luck.

And I sure wouldn't be too worried about one or two big calves out of 200 cows. Stuff happens and there's not always an easy or even a logical explanation for it. You know your bulls and you know your cows and apparently it hasn't happened before, so...if it were me, I'd just chalk it up to a nick and quit worrying about it.
