I've been on the Ag. Society board up here for years-we are the only Ag. Society in Sask. that ran a stockyard-we were in charge of the yard and employees and had an agent under contract to do the sales. This situation worked well for several years-40 or so-but last ten our agent was providing less than great service. This spring a couple younger guys-well to me 40's is still young-came forward with an offer to lease than purchase after five years. We accepted the offer on Monday night and they're already starting renovations-feed and water pens etc. I hope in ten years their business is thriving and I'm catching heck because we sold it too cheap. Hopefully we can take the money and use it to build a fair building or something similar.

I heard about that.....are you sure the mafia brothers don't have their fingers in the pie and getting ready to close the doors after a year..I worked for them and the are ruthless

hey you guys from sask. what ever happened to a father and son order buying outfit i think their names are frank and shannon, i think the old man had cancer recently from what i heard in the grape vine. shannons been in northwesten ontario in the past order buying but havn't seen him in a long time just after bse. somebody said they had a sales barn is sask and it busted leaving a lot of producers high and dry after selling their livestock. does anybody know the truth in this. fill me in if you can. just curious.

Frank and Shannon (the cannon) Eaton Shannon is buying for Weaver Ranching out of Lloydminister and Frank is managing Anderson Livestock out of Prince Albert, who is also owned by Weaver Ranching.... Shannon is a good guy I don't know Frank that well just seen him a few times, but if I can't get enough cattle out of my own market I send an order with Shannon it is always well taken care of.

YEA I REMEMBER THE OTHER BUYERS CALLING HIM THE CANNON, I SOLD HIM THREE HORSES ABOUT 5 YEARS AGO, I DIDN'T HEAR THE PART ABOUT THE FEEDLOT NOT PAYING UP FOR SOME CATTLE. MISS HAVING HIM COME AROUND TO OUR LITTLE SALE, PRICES WERE ALWAYS STEADY WHEN HE WAS BUYING  , IN THE RAINY RIVER DISTRICT
