Good afternoon all! I'm not a rancher. My grandfathers both were in Mexico, I was exposed to it while in Mexico. I'm here because I recently acquired property in California that has a barn built around the 1870s and a dairy house built around the same time. I'm hoping to find information on the builders of these types of barns. It seems to be a challenge finding information on barns in the west coast as compared to the east coast. One of the many questions I have is the roof corrugated steel. Looking up, there's a stenciled logo "Pacific Hardware & Steele - San Francisco. If anyone can shed some light on this paneling, that would be great. Ultimatley, I would like to source wood from a barn that has been dismantled and put this one back together. If that is not viable, well... I learn to use a portable mill.
