I was taking photos of the 4-H "critters" last night, for Al's record book.......I got a pretty good one of Tillie's backside......I didn't realize how broad she'd gotten! She does love her sweet feed, though, so I shouldn't be too surprised at how she's filling out..... The flies are terrible since the rains started, and it's just about impossible to get a good pic with her tail down.......

Just thought I'd share it with ya'll........

I got some fly stuff, and Hubby used it on the milk cow, it kinda made her sick, so we're really reluctant to put it on Al's show heifer..........sure don't want her gettin sick.

I got a good side shot of her, too, but when I put it in the computer, it did the "wonky" deal again.........I don't know what's wrong that sometimes they're great, and other times it makes them look like something you'd see in one of those fun house mirrors......

Yes if you have flies on her, put some cylence or somethin on her, it lasts for about 30 days, is a pour on. I don't know how well it will work if you are bathing her often. But still, if they have flies you'd be amazed at how much energy and pounds they will burn just fightin the flies off.

I don't understand why the powder would make her sick, ranchy.
Read the label and see if it is cleared for lactating cows. If it isn't
don't use it even on the heifer.

I mentioned dusting her because you wouldn't have to buy a big jug of something (Cylence) for her and the milk cow.

Cylence comes in small bottles too. Like 12 oz. bottles. That's what we got for Lil Lilly's show heifers. has the top that you just squeeze the bottle and it measures out the dose, then pour it on. There's enuff in there to do them several times, and it keeps for a long time.

I don't like the dust products just for the simple fact that no matter when ya do it, the winds gonna blow right in your face and I don't like the idea of inhalin the stuff.
