New rimfire from Winchester?

Has anyone heard anything about a new rimfire round coming from Winchester? supposedly faster, flatter etc. by quite a bit than the .17 HMR

News to me. But i am kinda on the outskirts of normal civilization. Sounds like a varmint special though. If ya hear any more about it, kindly pass it along please.

REMINGTON came out with the 5MM Rimfire in 1970. Was the latest and greatest at the time.

It's now pretty much obsolete and hard to buy cartridges for.

Do we really need another rimfire?

I don't think we do but that's just me. if they're talking 500 ft/sec faster than the .17 hmr,they're right around hornet speed's. What's the point? and you can't reload :? :???:
