New Songs that you like or make you smile.

One of my all time favorite songs was by a Canadian...............

Murray Mclaughlin

The Farmer Song

Dusty old farmer out working your fields
Hanging down over your tractor wheels
The sun beatin' down turns the red paint to orange
And rusty old patches of steel
There's no farmer songs on that car radio
Just cowboys, truck drivers and pain
Well this is my way to say thanks for the meal
And I hope there's no shortage of rain

Chorus
Straw hats and old dirty hankies
Mopin' a face like a shoe
Thanks for the meal here's a song that is real
From a kid from the city to you

The combines gang up, take most of the bread
Things just ain't like they used to be
Now your kids are out after the American dream
And they're workin in big factories
Now If I come on by, when you're out in the sun
Can I wave at you just like a friend
These days when everyone's taking so much
There's somebody giving back in

Chorus
Straw hats and old dirty hankies
Mopin' a face like a shoe
Thanks for the meal here's a song that is real
From a kid from the city to you

Did you all here that new Garth Brook's song it's first week on the country charts went to no 5.I think the song sucks of course I think Garth Brooks thinks he's a God we seen him in concert and he was touring with Trisha Yearwood I told my wife that night that he's cheating on his wife with her.Guess I was right dungheap.
Denny, you and Jigs are both pretty sorry excuses. Making all kinds of judgments when you don't know anything about the people you are talking about. Garth is as generous and nice a man as you will meet and Trish is just as sweet as she can be. They both attend an Independent Baptist church in Collinsville, just about every Sunday, and if you knew Sandy;s reputation you would sure understand why Garth divorced that wh***. Lets just say she enjoys the darker side of life........and she likes sampling all of them. I've talked to cops who have pulled her out of bars when she can't walk......so lets not hear about how Garth didn't do right by her.....she is very wealthy white trash......the divorce made her a multi millionaire.

As far as Garth's money, he DOES have more money than his grandkids grandkids can spend. But the context he said it in was when Oprah asked if he was going to perform any more. He said it was more important to be a daddy, and it isn't like he has to make money, and he can't be a daddy when he is on tour. So he won't go on tour again until his kids are grown up and off to college. After all, it's only another 10 years or so. He can give up the stage for that long. Seems to me to be a pretty responsible position for a guy with that much money and that much fame and power. There's a lot of musicians out there that abandon their families in pursuit of more bucks and more fame. Garth is as level headed, down to earth and honest a man as you will meet.

So i guess it was his wife who wrote the song" friends in low places" :D .....

He sounds like a stand up guy,if what you say is true...He is a wise man to notice how lucky he is to have the means to spend quality time his children as they grow-up and the moxie to step off the gravy train long enough to do that...

I have a friend who knows Garth Brooks, and his opinion of him is very high. And I knew Chris LeDoux a little bit. Knew him YEARS AGO, when he sat alone on a chair in a bar in Buffalo, Wyoming, played his guitar and sang songs. And I know a LOT of folks who knew Chris.
Chris had a great opinion of Garth Brooks.

I was happy to read Goodpasture's take on the man.
Some things there I didn't know...and I'm glad they were good.

Is Garth Brooks my favorite singer? Nope.

the interview I saw, where he said that had nothing to do with his retirement, it was when the "ropin the wind" cd came out. and I took it as braggin. I was having a hard time with the bank when he said it, and it stuck in my head. probably a character flaw on my part, but what do I know about judging people? hell I think Katrina is an ok person..... :???:

Jigs, you and Denny have both been stand up guys. I apologize for being as harsh as I was.

I guess my problem is that having had a slut for a wife, once upon a time, I understand how difficult it can be to make it with integrity. And I know Garth is as good a man as you can get, and people criticizing without knowing the circumstances, assuming that just because a guy has money or is famous or he works in an industry that is out of reach for most of us he is wrong, grates on my nerves.

You guys hit a sore spot with me, and I over reacted. I regret that, and you have my apologies.

Why is a loose woman known as a slut, but a skirt-chasing guy is a stud? :???: :?

don't get me wrong. I have absolutely nothing against hedonism. Ifa person has indiscriminate sex, it is their business, and their risk. "Let he without sin............" It is when you betray the trust of a commitment that I have the problem with. If you are going to sleep around, don't promise to be faithful to one person.

From Google: "Hedonism is the philosophy that pleasure is the most important pursuit of mankind."

From RhymeZone:

noun: an ethical system that evaluates the pursuit of pleasure as the highest good

noun: the pursuit of pleasure as a matter of ethical principle

From Soapweed: How they get "ethical" in the same meaning as personal pleasure being the most important pursuit of mankind is beyond me. :?

My only point to questioning you, Goodpasture, is why is it seemingly okay for a man to go bed-hopping, but when their wife does the same thing, it is very much looked down upon. It is just confusing to an old black-and-white country kid like me, that's all.

America: the land of opportunity and double standards.

we have a local guy who is divorced, his wife was a real get around type of gal, and I always thought he stayed home. well after the divorce, she stopped trying to hide it, and he decided it was his turn to be "free and easy" now she is alienated and he is a drunk. but one night at a dance, my wife and I were talking with some friends as this guy walks in...... a gal we know get up and goes over ripping into him for being a "man whore" she just kept yelling it at him. it really bothered him. and I thought it was odd, because the rest of the night guys would ask if I saw the display, and how it was wrong....they said the guy was just sowing his oats.

he did not stay long at the dance, guess a little voice told him to go home!

Not being everyone else, I can not answer for everyone else.....only for me. Who a person sleeps with and how often they sleep with others is irrelevant to me and I try not to pass judgment either way. When they make a commitment to each other then they should honor that commitment until such a time as they agree to a change in the terms of that commitment. If he is going to nail the secretary, then he has no business complaining about her nailing the milkman.

In my situation, both of us had had prior experience. That was not the problem. We both agreed to remain monogamous and build a family. She broke that agreement. That was the problem. Not only did she break the agreement, she did so multiple times with numerous partners. If that had been the terms of the relationship, no problem....it wasn't so it was a problem.

Thank you for the explanation. I see your point. If you both agreed to be faithful and monogamous, both parties should have showed commitment to that agreement.
