It was announced that they are building a "SCHEELS" store in SLC. The article said they have stores in the Dakota's and other states. Any of ya'll know anything about them? Thanks! :D

There is a Scheels in Rapid City. It caters more to games of play than hunting, but they do have a decent selection of outdoor stuff. There is a Cabellas also, but I am not really fond of it either. I would take a Gander Mountaian over either.

i agree with you on the Scheels in Rapid. have been there few times and may never go again seems there is a Cabellas just down the road. i've never been to a Gander Mountain, but would like to. where would the closest GM even be?

Scheels is more rounded than Cabela's. It might remind you of Dick's Sporting goods in SLC. I think they have one there don't they. I think the new Scheels store in Rapid City is pretty nice. The old store was pretty conjested. The new store has something for everyone from fishing and hunting to skiing and canoeing to golf and hockey.

Scheel's prices make Cabela's stuff seem reasonably priced. They do have good prices on sale merchandise, but a $55 pair of Bog Boots usually runs $90-110 at Scheel's.
