There has been some talk on here about the Pinebank Angus herd out of New Zealand. Has anyone used any of these bulls in particular Pinebank Waigroup 41/97 or 130-03. I am very intrerested to see how you like their calves. Anything you could pass on would be great. Also would like to see pics. if any are avaliable. I am concidering using one of these bulls but do not know much. Everything i have heard has been good.

I have not seen any altho I have a neighbor that has some calves coming this spring....
You may want to go to this site and check out the threads they had going on Pinebank there.... JBob (J Bob Hould of Havre Mt.) on that site could answer a lot of your questions- as I think he is part of the group that went to New Zealand and saw the cattle- and is promoting the Pinebank cattle now....

My thoughts on this breeding is that they are the Ohlde's of Austrailia. Pretty much the same type of cattle in my mind. Same with Diamond D Angus. Both proven ranches in the US for cattle that convert grass well and bring in a good calf. Probably not going to wreck the scale, but good functional cattle.

Not knocking the cattle in any way, as I have used a bit of OCC bulls AI, but I dont think these Aussie bulls are better by any means. Probably different bloodlines for US cattle, but if you trace them back they probably resemble many of the pedigrees used in the US for efficient cattle.

Just my thoughts on chasing the "sire of the season".
