Alright, I need a little help now. I think I have a bearing holder ( or a muffler bearing, not sure which one ) that is wore out on one of the rollers in the middle of the baler that keeps the tension on the bale and sets the core pressure. My question is, how can I get to the end of that roller without taking the entire cradle that holds those two rollers, completely out of the baler.

Any help from someone with one of these balers would be appreciated

Thanks in advance.

You can replace all the bearings in those rollers that are in that cradle, looks harder than is really is! Take the pressure off the belts, take the small chains off the sides that stop that cradle and the big chain off the side so you can spin the rollers by hand, rock that cradle so the holes line up on the side of baler so you can take the bolts out, If I remember correctly there is a metal guide you need to take off also, on the compression rollers you need to roll them and the idlers gears out one at a time, We have replaced all of ours on a 664 at least twice, Like I say looks harder than it really is, hope this helps! 101

just wondering if there was replacement instruction if you down load the parts manual. When I picked up some parts the dealer has printed out the manual pages for removal and replacement

Does this help?

When you get the tension off the belts, you can get to all the bearings, lay a pair of bars across the baler to take the load of the belts, and take the rollers out completely, the bearings have a seat in the roller, you can drive them out with a straight bar, and replace them the same way, 6sided shaft inside. You have a 5/8 cap screw holding the shaft, put loctite on them.

BMR, I have those diagrams already. They are handy for ordering but they don't show how to do it without pulling that cradle.

Cowman52, where do I lay those bars to take the tension off. Across the top with tailgate open? All the roller bearings, except the 2 that put your core pressure on, are easy to change. I have done them, just the 2 on that cradle. I can't expose the end to pull the cap screw.

Open tailgate, shut the valve to the bale tension system, lower the tailgate, you will get slack in the belts, if I haven't forgot, there is a hole in the side panel that will let you take the cap screws out through the side of the baler, best I remember it is near the reinforcing post that runs vertical.
