True enough with the protein FH but I am never obsessed with the protein levels anyway. I'd be more concerned with the effect on the energy levels - and the fact yields harvested maybe drop by 50% on some of these light crops that turn black and grow back into the ground. But maybe you have a mineral to sell them for that problem too?

we put up over 900 acres of hay , we graze are first cut , cows come off by june first , we've been able to get are protein levels up to 16 % , we don't start till the middle of july after Calgary , this is the first year that piece has got rain on it we don't rake until we know it's going to bale 'rain in this part of the country is very uncommon this time of year , all that iron just don't pay to have sitting around for a few days work in the summer . I spend my falls working for a feedlot riding fresh calves and it's always funny, they always have to put out a little hay , I think I'll take the rained on hay , besides that we really like that picture that Ben Crane drew of Howard Jones

We got our 2nd cut put up yesterday, just one field, the other is an old stand and was too thin to bother cutting. The cows are going into it this week so it sure won't be wasted!

A lot of the second cut around here is very light due to lack of rain. The field we did went a little over 2 - 4x5's per acre. Not much, but perfect quality.

Ben Crane can draw, sculpt and play just about any instrument but according to the editor of cowboy Country magazine he can't fix a fence.

But, as evidenced by his painting, he does know a good fence only requires 3 wires
