Late afternoon of a cold day

The cows got some cake.

Later in the day

Windmill at sundown

One grandson dressed, and one to go

My little baby sitting project

What was supposed to be ten or fifteen minutes turned into almost an hour and a half. They were good kids, and the only one about
ready to cry was grandpa.

Frost

Lots of it

This many trees in Nebraska is almost what we call a forest--a frosted forest.

Road to the ranch

Old telegraph pole in the shadow

A gate on the meadow

Windmill, cell phone tower, tree, wire, post, and grass all in the same picture

Another tree

Same tree from the shadowy side

Frost on the wire

Trying to sight in on the wire to see if her back is straight

Big cottonwoods on the meadow

They are very old trees, pretty good sized at the base, and could probably tell lots of good stories.

Ready to feed a little hay

They'll be brand new mommas in just a very few months.

A geezer with no ears. How in the world does that hat keep from falling down over his eyes?

Heifers are scattered out eating cake

Taking off the net-wrat

A 39-gallon garbage bag comes in handy to keep net-wrap consolidated and from making a mess.

One bale scattered out for quite a ways, fed small enough to not cause much waste.

Caker and across-the-bed tool box. There is still plenty of room for two bales of hay.

Later in the day feeding another bunch hay

A lert cow. The world needs more lerts.

Same old geezer with no ears visible here either.
