Funeral for a longtime neighbor, held in a little country church. This small place of worship always seemed like the "Little Brown Chuch in the Vale."

The Kosmo Kid is branding one of his new bred heifers.

They are 3/4 to 7/8 Angus, with 1/8 to 1/4 Simmental.

They weighed an average of 1200 pounds when he bought them at the Whitestone-Krebs Genetics Fall Round-Up Sale - Volume III last Saturday.

And they cost $1460 each.

These new heifers are a bit pampered, but they will probably adjust to their new leaner surroundings. They probably won't be the soapweed eating type, and I really hope none will attempt to "eat" one particular Soapweed. :wink:

I'm glad he bought these with a tad bit of Simmental rather than the Scottish Highlanders he was joking about buying, hoping that they could live on soapweeds instead of hay.

I think he has a little throw back to the era gone past, little bit of the old blacksmith talent. Tell him that is very special and great work!
