Was thinking today, with all the NSA gathering this and that and to and fro, they mst be some busy sob's, with all the references to BSE, wing nuts, etc. They have got to have some whole department just as dedicated as the IRS was to the tea party, heck maybe twice as committed to just keeping up with flounder and his BSE sightings.
What you reckon they think BSE is???? Maybe biometric scientific equipment, maybe biological shifting examples, maybe just bull s***extrodnair.
Between flounder and OT they have got to be thinking " there are some stupid f*****g hillbillies out there. They can't be smart enough to figure out were taping them."

you would think they could use all that money and improve profiling.

With all this surveillance, that started with Clinton, you'd think they would have been able to find out about 911, before it happened.

Bush's Patriot Act, actually protected American Citizen's against the abuse that is happening under obama.

The Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act (CALEA) is a United States wiretapping law passed in 1994, during the presidency of Bill Clinton (Pub. L. No. 103-414, 108 Stat. 4279, codified at 47 USC 1001-1010).

CALEA's purpose is to enhance the ability of law enforcement and intelligence agencies to conduct electronic surveillance by requiring that telecommunications carriers and manufacturers of telecommunications equipment modify and design their equipment, facilities, and services to ensure that they have built-in surveillance capabilities, allowing federal agencies to monitor all telephone, broadband internet, and VoIP traffic in real-time.

What do the FISA laws referenced under the Patriot Act have to say about this?

50 U.S.C. ch. 36 (laws governing the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act) subsection 1802 specifically states that it can only be used for:

the acquisition of the contents of communications transmitted by means of communications used exclusively between or among foreign powers, as defined in section 1801 (a)(1), (2), or (3) of this title; or

(ii) the acquisition of technical intelligence, other than the spoken communications of individuals, from property or premises under the open and exclusive control of a foreign power, as defined in section 1801 (a)(1), (2), or (3) of this title;

subsection 1802, clause B states:

...there is no substantial likelihood that the surveillance will acquire the contents of any communication to which a United States person is a party...

I wonder if all the "concern" is over who was screwing who or maybe like J. Edgar, who was playing the female in the deal?.

Wiki leaks was supposed to be just awful, the sun came up, the birds chirped, now this? Anybody that trades secrets over the phone or by e mail is an idiot. It's kinda lime talking to your sister in law, it will get repeated.

and yet they didn't stop the fort hood bomber.. who was communicating with a known terrorist

Days after the shooting, reports in the media revealed that a Joint Terrorism Task Force had been aware of e-mail communications between Hasan and the Yemen-based cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, who had been monitored by the NSA as a security threat, and that Hasan's colleagues had been aware of his increasing radicalization for several years.

He also handed out copies of the Qur'an, along with his business cards, which listed a Maryland phone number and read "Behavioral Heatlh [sic] – Mental Health – Life Skills | Nidal Hasan, MD, MPH | SoA(SWT) | Psychiatrist".[104][105] According to investigators, the acronym "SoA" is commonly used on jihadist websites as an acronym for "Soldier of Allah" or "Servant of Allah", and SWT is commonly used by Muslims to mean "subhanahu wa ta'ala" (Glory to God)

Hasan expressed admiration for the teachings of Anwar al-Awlaki, the imam at the Dar al-Hijrah mosque in Falls Church, Virginia between 2000 and 2002. Awlaki had been the subject of several FBI investigations, and had helped hijackers al-Hazmi and Hanjour settle, and provided spiritual guidance to them when they met him at the San Diego mosque, and after they drove to the east coast.[112] Considered moderate then, Al-Awlaki appeared to become radicalized after 2006 and was under surveillance. After Hasan wrote nearly 20 emails to him between December 2008 and June 2009, Hasan was investigated by the FBI. The fact that Hasan had "certain communications" with the subject of a Joint Terrorism Task Force investigation was revealed in an FBI press release made on November 9, 2009,[113] and reporting by the media immediately revealed that the subject was Awlaki and the communications were emails.[114] In one, Hasan wrote: "I can't wait to join you" in the afterlife. Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer, a military analyst at the Center for Advanced Defense Studies, suggested that Hasan was "either offering himself up or [had] already crossed that line in his own mind." Hasan asked al-Awlaki when jihad is appropriate, and whether it is permissible if innocents are killed in a suicide attack.

or the Boston bombers who they were actually warned about...

both were "investigated".. and nothing was done...

the terrorist hasan wrote dozens of e-mails.. any fool could see he was a problem...

so what good is the spying IF the intent is to stop terrorism?..
