Gonna be leaving the homefront Wednesday about 4 p.m. for a Trauma Nursing conference in billings to be held the 14th and 15th!!! If anyone should find themselves in the vicinity, let me know!! Until I get back, I would sure appreciate my ranchers.net family keeping an eye on cowboyup for me....don't take any guff off the guy and don't let him get too carried away in his whining about the weather or about trying to get his haying done!!! Supposed to have snow in the higher elevations by Friday...just in time for me to be heading home over that danged Bozeman Pass!!!

You better let us know your schedule so we can meet up after classes. I need an excuse to run down to the Feedlot Steakhouse and buy you some dinner. Geez you aint been here for a year

Remeber, what happens in Ennis stays in Ennis

If you folks find yourselves around there, let me know!!!
:D :D :D :D

Have fun and I sure wish i was going to be in Billings, but duties take me elsewhere.

Tell cowboyup if he needs any recipies for food, to give me a holler. I can make a meal out of many different kinds of peanut butter and jelly.

our little 9 bed hospital does, indeed, pay for the conference, fuel to and fro and the room and reimburses for meals!! Pretty sweet deal, if ya ask me!! We have employees from Billings coming to our little town the 2nd and 3rd of October to do our TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course) classes for us.....much better than having to pay for 12 nurses to stay in a hotel, meals and gas for all!! Hoping to get our ACLS done the same way in December! We often find out about conferences by contacting the hospitals in the surrounding area (Billings Deaconess, Billings St Vincents, Missoula St Patricks, Missoula Community, Bozeman Deaconess and Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls) and asking for a copy of their upcoming seminars!! Most are more than willing to work with you!! Many conferences give you several breaks in the day, lots of opportunity to get up and stretch your legs, coffee and tea and GREAT information!! Best of luck to you!! I leave here in about 3 hours!! Yay!!

No "Social Hour"- or "Hospitality Room" :???: Don't tell me conferences and seminars don't have them anymore- but I suppose a group of nurses is a little more refrained than a bunch of Sheriffs and Cops....But then I've known a nurse or two that could leave me in the dust when it came to having fun at a party... I think one of the best I ever saw was a "child abuse seminar" in Billings- made up of law enforcement, nurses, doctors, social workers from all over the state...Think it was the first time some of those ole gals had been out of town or let their hair down in years....

conference was well worth the time, effort and the being away from the kiddos!! (had pictures of them taped to the mirror in the room, anyway  )......weather was pretty agreeable til I headed home and then the clouds opened up and DUMPED!!! Not gonna complain one bit, though.....sure the firefighters on the lines of those acres still burning are not complaining either!!!
