THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BILLINGS HAS ISSUED A BLIZZARD WATCH... WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH MONDAY AFTERNOON.

10 TO 15 INCHES OF SNOWFALL WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS WILL BE POSSIBLE BY MONDAY. IN ADDITION TO THE SNOWFALL... STRONG NORTH TO NORTHEAST WINDS OF 30 TO 40 MPH WILL ALSO BE POSSIBLE. THE SNOW COMBINED WITH THE STRONG WINDS WILL CREATE BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW ALONG WITH VERY POOR VISIBILITIES. WHITEOUT CONDITIONS WILL ALSO BE POSSIBLE AT TIMES CREATING VERY HAZARDOUS TRAVEL. SNOW IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND BECOME HEAVY SUNDAY EVENING INTO MONDAY. WINDS WILL BE INCREASING SUNDAY NIGHT AND BY EARLY MONDAY MORNING VERY POOR VISIBILITY WITH RAPIDLY ACCUMULATING SNOW AND DRIFTING SNOW IS EXPECTED.

We're getting the calm before the storm right now....Beautiful out- 40 degrees- no wind to speak of- sun shining------But 50 miles north I see on the radar its snowing along the border...

Oh hurray! We are still trying to melt the snow from the last one. We had rain before that one and the mud was so high in places it ran in over the top of my boots. Cows were dragging their udders in it and if one did calf you had about 15 minutes to get it if you were going to save it. Glad it did freeze it all now but more moisture is something we don't need.

well keep the dang door closed this time, the last one that got down here had me hunting my carharts, saposta get in the thirties tonite, makes me cold just thinkin about it :D
good luck

Looking at today- you could hardly believe a winter snow storm or blizzard was on the way....It got to 48 degrees today- no wind- sunny--and in between watching the Sinclair Bull Sale, whenever I went out to check heifers or the cows- it was just beautiful....One of those days that make you almost guilty for being inside (altho I'll blame it on Faster Horses as she wanted me to check on a couple of bulls- and then a friend showed up so we had to have a few toddy's while watching the sale  )...

Still beautiful out- 41 degrees...Just like one of the other threads said- its no wonder folks got caught in storms years ago before we had weather bureaus....

The nice thing is- those weather boys keep saying the worst part of this storm looks like it will go south of the Missouri-south of us....But- almost in the same track as those that got hit last week.... :( But they also keep saying another one is following the same track - forecast to hit about next Friday or Saturday..  :(

Man its times like this makes me glad I live in the south. I just hate the summer time heat. How about we send you some heat and you send us some cold and it will be nice all the time.

Yall take care.

Well we received our Saturday night snow storm right on time. I'll try to remember to take the camera. When the snow piles up so does the work. This one came straight out of the east. Turned the portable shelters at 330am as a few calves are starting to come.

Well we've been gardening the last two days, getting the raised beds built, hauling manure over, planted some peas and potatoes and quite a few starts inside the house.Been burning all the debris from the trees we fell for fire wood, glad thier giving us a couple burn days, got given an old squeeze that i took apart and have been restoring, totally spring like here 66 degrees, been in a tee shirt for the last three days, starting to hunt up shade by noon 8) little grasses are rearing thier beautiful little heads out of the soil, makes for quite a bit of optimism around here.It feels good to be out side getting projects done, thing about snow melt is you find all the things that you left out in the fall :? :o .Todays project is to paint &replace boards on the chicken coop the bear tore off and the racoons/or mabye it was a skunk finished.Cleaned our chickens out,so off to get more chicks this week, for fresh meat and see if i can locate some older layers.Course all this good weather can change in a heart beat as we all know, did see chance of showers/with possible flurries.which allways leads to a dumping of snow, were not in the clear yet,but i'm taking my rays of sunshine and running with it. 8) Admitablly it's windy as all heck last night and this morning :x .Well that's my report for the day, enjoy all!!!!Solomon.

It has been -27 C the last two mornings here, didn't really get above freezing yesterday. Our share of the moisture was only a dusting of snow.
Twin calf-sicles in the basement this morning, the flood is starting.

Local weatherwoman reported that we are to get between 14"-18" of snow in a 24 hour period.
Opened up the gates to the corral with the shed.
Started raining last night at around 9pm. Quit a bit at around 11pm. Snowing this morning.
