Ok ranchersnet family I need advice.

Those cell phones are great for this purpose.

When my son was a manager for the wrestling team, about thirteen I suppose he had to be gone for five days to the State tourny with the boys. He had to room with the big guys(heavyweights and 215'rs) and we worried ourselves silly. Come to find out they looked out for him like an old mother hen. They all had a gtood time and stayed out of trouble. It was the best thing we ever did by letting him go. And with cell phones now it would be awhole lot easier.

Katrina- I love high school wrestling- What weight does your son wrestle? Good luck to him!!!!!!!!

As Mr. Mom Dad and I had that talks when I was 10 soon after that he put an uncounted 1/2± a box of condoms in my room - every week he'd give my the Chance to Talk with questions like
You PG yet?
You having Sex?
Ect. - - - We were very open and had alot of talks.

Cell Phones?

I was 12 and on a 4H Exchange Trip to Florida - 5 of us were told to stay at this Good Christan House :!:

After all the Rules I did not have a good feeling and called Dad (They tried to take my Cell Phone while I was talking to him) - Dad called every 4H adult he knew and the adults that were with us but at other Households

I was picked up that night and taken to another house - The other 4 in our groupe called me names for leaving. The next day the 4 did not show-up for a planned 4H day.

I raised a fuss - 4H Leaders call the house and did not get good answers. They called the Local Police and went with them to the house - The household holing they and teaching them how to be Good Christans

I heard the were being charged by the Police!

Katrina- What were you doing at that age? Sometimes I think we get overprotective- anyway I did- until I'd think what I was doing when I was the same age... riding broncs and bulls at 14- travelling to rodeos around the state at 16 ( although sometimes my mother made me take my 13 year old sister with me to take care of me :???: )- living by myself at age 16 taking care of the place after Dad got sick and was in and out of the VA hospital and the folks moved to town- sometimes working from a lineshack 40 miles from town with half the remuda being colts or broncs (no phones, no cell phones) with no contact with anyone for days....

And there were a lot of other things I did that I never will tell my kids  - but I survived them- and I learned from every one of them..I guess luck was just with me..

Do you trust your son? Then you need to allow him the chance to show you what he is made of. make sure he has a phone , money and a sleeping bag. Give him a big hug and kiss tell him you love him and to have fun. OHHHH GOOD LUCK at the match :D
Make sure Mr katrina is there for you to cry on his shoulder........it is hard but he will be fine and have a great time.

Condoms? Is this co-ed wrestling or what-let him go to a Bball game with the other kids-he'll be just fine I'm sure. Most serious young athletes take care of themselves pretty good-on the weekend most of my boys head to their rooms for a pregame nap lol-kind of funny in 13-14 year olds.

My 21 year old the minute his girlfriend leaves rushes to his videogame. I can imagine him thinking "At last!" Boys are more interested in other boys and their hobbies and athletics than girls mostly

I don't think I was ever interested in other boys  :o Girls now oh yea and after my girlfriend would leave I needed a nap before the next one showed up oh to be young again. :lol2: :lol2:

Ok family.
Here is the skinny as of tonight. We are leaving in the morning at 5:15. One coach backed out so no bus driver could be found in such short notice. Come to find out I WAS NOT THE ONLY MOTHER WORRIED.One mother was driving her son down. ANd the principle had some reservations on JV going and staying all night anyway.
Carter wrestles 125....
OH YEAH GUESS WHO IS DRIVING A BUS TOMORRROW???

MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!

Good job, Katrina - my input would have been redundant, so I held back to see how things worked out. I, too, would have been just as concerned as you, now you are a bus driver, God helped you deal with this problem, didn't He? It's amazing how things work out!!!!

We just got home from my son's 1st wrestleing match he ended up getting forth place out of 12 kids his Mom's pretty proud I have a lump in my throat. He is in kindergarten and wrestled kids up to 2nd grade. He has been walking around all night with his new trophy he's proud of himself as am I.

I guess a mother never does quit worrying. :-)

--------------------------------------------------

Early one morning, a mother went in to wake up her son.

"Wake up, son. It's time to go to school!"

"But why, Mom? I don't want to go."

"Give me two reasons why you don't want to go."

"Well, the kids hate me for one, and the teachers hate me also!"

"Oh, that's no reason not to go to school. Come on now and get ready."

"Give me two reasons why I should go to school."

"Well, for one, you're 52 years old. And for another, you're the PRINCIPAL!"

End of story.
We left the school parking lot with two 9 passenger buses. Coach led the way and I followed. All the boys slept on the way down, so was really quiet. I just turned the radio off and drove.
We got to Neligh and weighed in. We had one boy over weight so he ran and ran and ran. Finally coach put him up a weight class. One boys hair was too long so I cut it for him. Went to the concession stand for coffee and no coffee. They were all new so asked me if I would make the coffee, so I did. Was really tough wrestleing. Valentine JVs were the only reserve team. The rest were varsity. We placed all our boys except 2. Carter got 5th, and a medal.
On the way home the boys were a blast. I can not stop smiling. The stories, jokes and just, I don't know how to explain it. All that I can say is that I am very proud to be a JV wrestler mom and they are the best kids. Their parents should be proud. GO JV WRESTLEING BADGERS!!!!!!!!!
