Old age still has its advantages

This was from one of my Facebook friends. It just goes to show that old age and experience can still beat youthfulness and exuberance.

Allan's story:

I was tickled clear through yesterday. Awhile back two young fellows worked together to get a big combine negotiated through gates to cut wheat here, one driving and the other on the ground guiding. It looked like difficult work. Well yesterday the elder in the family, well into his 80's stopped by to get the combine home and I offered to help with guiding through the gates. He said he might break off a gate post, but that he had ran that combine before. So I stayed busy in the shop, but I noticed he took the combine through the gates fast and easy by himself and was on his way down the road in no time. I called the elder's wife later to explain the reason I offered to help guide him through the gates was because as the young fellows brought the combine in it looked like a fairly difficult deal and I was amazed at how fast and easy her husband took the thing out through the gates. She said, "Aw well that's just because he's been doing that for a long time".
