I went out into eastern New Mexico Thursday to look at some yearlings to buy and this big sucker was in the pasture with them. These black baldy steers weigh nearly 800 so this feller is pretty big. Maybe a ton, his rack is close to 7 ft. across. The owner said he was 10 years. Can you imagine what his head would be worth? If I buy these steers I don't think I could get him on the truck, but sure would be fun to see the eyes of the feedyard manager when he came off the truck.

Almost 7 feet? Wow. Wouldn't the owner be afraid he'd gore some of their other cattle?

i worked on a place at eagle pass tx. that had some of those big steers for lead steers and man they were pretty and very efective in the thick brush
until later
