One drawback of setting out bales.

Pretty muddy, so setting out quite a few bales without processing them. Works well for the most part, but today four of us spent several hours getting cows in that had stuff in their eyes. Mostly cheatgrass. Doesn't take too many bales with a "surprise center" to screw things up.

Do you have Quack? If so let me know if it kills that stuff.

Are you spraying alfalfa or grass?

Interesting. It is labeled for cheatgrass and quack grass. Not for medusahead which we have a big problem with. Personally, I like quack grass.

I think somebody crossed quackgrass with blue bunch wheatgrass? seems like it was called newhy or somesuch? anybody know anything about this, any experience?

bluebunch is Montana state grass, but a cow looks at it and it faints. trying to combine best of both, if memory serves.

You would like it a lot less in this area when it gets in your hay ground. It takes over completely, then just gets stemmy and quits producing. Its a real plague. Nothing wrong with it out in the pastures though.
