We woke up to see our barn and hay go up in flames. It was a morning much like what we have today, still and cold.

I am trying to upload pictures of our new building but am having trouble finding the right file. I'm not much good at this sort of stuff but will hopefully get some up a bit later.

Oh yes, today started out better until my son called home a few minutes after he left for work at 5:00 to tell us that he hit a deer with the pickup . . . .

Coulda been worse, it's still drivable and he wasn't injured! :D

December 17th is becoming a day to remember - or forget - around here!

Was your user name Burnt before the fire or after?
Is your sons user name Crash?

Your Dec 17 , is something like around here with the year 9.
1979 pole barn and feeder burned down.
1989 our feed stack burned.
1999 the year of the miracle no fire.
2009 baler burns up.

I remember the fire pictures. It was sad even though I had never seen the barn before. I'm glad you built a replacement. Next year have your whole family stay in bed on the 17th.

   And what would be so wrong about that Jigs??? You may just have given me the best idea all year!!

Gee, now I just can't wait for next December 17!!!

Coyote, my user name was burnt since I re-registered on here about 2 years ago. It used to be Maple Leaf Angus before that and I liked that name a lot better. I had left the board for a while and came back after a bit of a "burn out" so I thought "burnt" would be appropriate!! Poor choice and all too applicable as it turns out . . .

I am just glad ya'll stayed safe while the barn burned. I've been on a few of those kind of fires and they are no picnic. And it explains why everytime you post, i catch a whiff of smoke!
