opening day

It's opening day in our area for deer today now the fun starts with all the road hunters.
Opening day here too,we hardly see any road hunters, kinda hard when one has to walk the Battle River hills. Most land down here is posted walk traffic only.

Alot of the land around here is posted as well but there is alot of open areas where if they see a deer they will shoot and ask later. I am a hunter as well but there seems to be alot of people who do not respect landowners. They feel if it's not posted then it's there right to hunt it. And most of them are from town, I wonder if they would like it if I drove on their lawn and maybe even left some ruts and then tell them you had no sighns saying no tresspassing.

I went out this evening the zone just north of me opened up today. I have a ground blind on some private land. The land owner said i am the only person who he will let hunt. By the way it borders some wildlife lands. When i got to my ground blind i was told to leave the deer were starting to move and i should get out of the area before i ruin a hunt by the person in my blind. So i got on the cell phone called the land owner and then the law and got a pic on my cell phne of the intruder. I am the only guy with permission on this posted land and the landowner told me to kick the guy out. The intruder said he must have made a mistake as he has a ground blind in the area too, but on the wildlife lands. Maybe my name on the blind was missed, maybe the grazed down pasture was mistaken for ungrazed wildlife lands. But i think this idiot will regret his mistake tonight i sent the pic to the DNR and the landowner has had enough of these type of hunters he is pressing charges. I wonder if others would have reacted the same way. I have heard stories of guys being shot for doing this sort of things in the states.

Had a similiar deal few days back. Was riding a circle checking some leased ground north of my place that is bordered by some heavily wooded ground. One of the dogs went into a barking fit near the fence line & sure enuff there were a couple guys in tree stands overlooking the meadow. Rode over to talk to the guys & advise them that they were on posted ground. They gave me the old "got permission" story to which I advised them that I never gave permission to anybody, let alone them. After threatenin to call the authorities they finally left (mutterin some pleasantries about my sex-life or somethin). Anyway, next day I returned to the same area & sure enuff they had cut some of the fence. Gotta love some people...................must have been city boys!

I normally will let people hunt if they are curtious and respect boundries.I think there are too many deer so by letting in some hunters they take some home with them.I figure if I'm not hunting a spot it does'nt hurt if someone else is.By allowing some hunters.
