38 fire ant bites between my knee and ankle!!! Or at least that what I can count....prob more!!!

For you Northern Folks......they are the scourge of the Formicidae family and were NEVER this far North until a few yrs ago.


Now, they are a pure plague!!!


The other Southern folks will know of what I speak!!!

This calls for some Mojito medicine!!! :wink: :wink: :wink:

I hated those suckers in Austin. The bites hurt and would last a week. I never had more than a few bites on the feet however. That's one thing I don't miss about Texas.

And I was terrified of my babies getting bitten when they were little and on the ground playing outside.

It was 80 here today with only about 15% humidity and I was KOLD all day long!!!!!


I want my 90F and 90% humidity back....NOW!!!

Hey I'm an experienced "fire anter"!!!! As for a mojito...never had one of them.....

Fire ants is enuff to make ya mad all over again, ever time the daggum bites itch.

When our oldest was about 2 years old. We went fishin. I'd told him...don't get in the fire ants. What did he do? Fell right in a huge mound. I hadda strip him down to bare skin from head to toe to get all of em off him. They was in his shirt, in his diaper, in his socks, pants...shoes....boy was he mad at me for gettin him nekid outside hahaha

Kolanuraven, it's too late now, but let me tell you how we get our revenge in North Florida. When the rains come enough to cause some flooding, go out in a boat and look for balls of fireants floating on the water. They get in colony-sized balls, and constantly rotate to get a breath. Pour a little gas on the ball and watch everybody sink and die. You can clear your pasture of ants pretty quick with this method. Great fun!
WARNING!!! Do NOT let your son steer the boat until he understands that touching the ball with the boat is an invitation for them to come aboard! Not so good.

Oh....we make a ' brew'...pour it in the mound, lite it and run and blow the suckers up.


Don't kill'em, prob spreads the b'tards, but it will sure break the boredom of a slow afternoon!!! :lol: :lol: :lol:
