Our part time job - (interior photos added)

This is what we do at our part time job. Mr Lilly does the motor rebuilding, Lil Lilly and I do a lot of sand blasting getting body parts as well as other parts ready for paint. Some we paint ourselves. Some stuff goes to the painters. Restoration on this car started last spring. I know I have a before picture somewhere, but can't find it on the computer. It was in really bad shape. Dents, rust….etc.

Got it back from the painters yesterday. It's not completely finished. Still have a few chrome pieces like mirrors and such to put on it. But it's really nice now. It's a 1929 Cadillac.

There is money doin this....but....lol always a but.....I never think Mr Lilly charges what he should. But we do all get a nice lil paycheck on friday afternoons. It's one of those jobs that we can go out and work however long we want....when we want....or not at all if we don't want to. No pressure there. Mr Lilly machines alot of the parts that are obsolete and can't be found. Mostly some of the outside chrome pieces...or interior stuff that hasta be sent to the chromers.

I will get an interior shot when I'm out there. It's not as 'fancy' as you'd think a Cadillac of that period should be. But it's nice. And it smells new again. LOL

Mr Lilly still likes puttin on some of the dash buttons and knobs. Door handles and such. But here's a pic of the front seat dash area.

Back seat…looks comfy.

Here's the back seat and door , as well as the grab bar that's on the back of the front seat. There's bracket that you can't see (ring) between the front and back doors…is a bud vase holder. You put the vase in their with a rose bud. (guess that's for real special occasions lol)

NOT ME!!! LOL Although I have done some in the past. And will most likely hafta do Mr Lilly's car when he gets to that point.

He had a crew of Mexican fella's that done it. They are really good!!!!

This car, and all of the restoration projects we do out there is a combined effort between numerous groups of people. He has a couple of brothers that do body work. They are awesome at taking out dents...repairing rust areas, etc. We do most of the taking the car apart, gettin it ready for the body guys to work on it. If the parts need no repairs we get it ready for paint, by priming it. When it comes to the motor and other working parts, we do alot of painting that stuff ourselves. Mr Lilly has had to machine quiet a few custom parts for this car...such as door handles, lock assemblies and such that can no longer be found. Of course he rebuilds the motors. We (Lil Lilly and I) help him with that stuff, as much as we can. This car was totally taken apart. Down to the frame. Each piece fixed, repainted, whatever needed to be done...then reassembled. I don't care for the orange frame and wheels...but the manufacturers brochure he has shows it is original colors that could be had in 1929.

Kinda fun when you get to see the whole thing come together.
