purdy horse and purdy dogs!

Yep-- I agree--- I only wish I could get over the old issue I was raised with where the "pintos" did not fit AQHA (or any association) rules- and were the culls-and were overly plentiful up here on the reservation where multiple studs ran all over- so they were considered the cheap multi-sire bred unsellable horses- that us as kids were stuck riding for years...So we ended up with many pintos/paints- some of which were good horses....

That's a fine looking horse. More importantly, he has a kind, and intelligent eye. I don't care how pretty or perfectly built a horse is, you if he doesn't have that "look" in his eye, he's not worth a dime.

My first experience with a Pinto horse, was named "Pinto" coincidentally. He was a chore horse, but a kid could do anything with him. He would line up beside the fence so I could jump on his back, no saddle of course, and then we'd plod up the road and back. On the way back into the yard he could flip the loop off the small walk through gate with his nose, and then we'd carry on to the barn. He was awesome! I don't think he appreciated the day I braided green ribbons into his mane though. :P

I have to tell this story...A paint breeder from Whitehall was at a rodeo
some place. A guy rides this nice looking paint horse in the box and the
paint breeder tells his wife, "look at that nice paint horse."

About that time, the horse proceeds to throw a fit in the arena.
Puts on quite a show. The paint breeder then says to his wife,

"Oh, I guess he's a PINTO."

Yep- when I was younger they were all "pintos" -- or in some cases "Indian horses" or "rez horses"--- but as time went on- and doing brand inspections- I was told "that horse isn't a pinto- its a paint".... Then later I caught hell because the horse wasn't a paint or a pinto-- but a Tobiano

Whatever clicks your clock :???:  :P

That is a good looking pony for sure. Grampa always said a good horse is never a bad colour and I tend to try to live by that. Looking back though, I never saw him with a pinto  .
