Peak Dot Bull Sale

I've had some friends and neighbors go- and get bulls there... About the only thing I heard all of them say is that the Moneo's do throw one big party... :wink:
I'm not a fan of their program-- too big framed of cattle and too much bigger, better, faster direction....

I watched the Sinclair Cattle Sale yesterday- and their prices were way down... Several bulls selling for $1750 and no saling...


An interesting bull sale coming up for folks in the Dakotas area is the
Cotton-Doyle-Hyland sale coming up April 10th... Some good old grass type and maternal bloodlines of cattle (Predominantly Wye breeding- some Shoshone Viking GD60, Emulation, Jorgenson mixed in) :

Nope- you have the right place...They use a lot of S A V bulls...

Years back they had several bulls they had bought from Stevenson-Basin...
 
We've not been to Peak Dot either. We keep saying "next year" after something comes along that we can't do it this year :?

I know there are a few of their bulls in this corner of the province. If we've seen them they have blended in with the rest of that ranch's bulls. Looking at cattle is always worth a drive :D (It's the only way I can get the ol' man off the place) :D

Peak Dot certainly has SAV bulls in their lineup. Predominant 4438, Capacity 5234, Iron Mtn 8066 and now Eliminator 9105. I have Capacity and Iron Mtn lines working for me and have been very happy. Also using Grasslands, Hobson,Dominator and Bold. Really impressed with Iron Mtn. Still think Prime Cut was one of the best bulls I have ever saw and still have one of his offspring working. This will be his last year,just hate to get rid of the old guy.

The sale is something to see. Nice line up of bulls although I haven't seen this years yet. This week I should tour through. The program won't satisfy everyone but find one that will! Like searching for a unicorn. Service second to none.

Well sale went good. Fall bulls averaged $5705 yearlings $4524 heifers $3633. I expected it to be down from that but even on the low end the bulls held decent for $. North Ridge how did it go for you? Anything interesting?
 
To bad I didn't read this sooner. I would of loved to had a visit.

The drive was excellent. I still have about 4 hours left though. Got to see the home towns of alot of my college friends. Even caught up with one of them.

Never got one bought though. Had about 7 yearlings and a couple off age bulls picked out, but they all traded over my limit.

Some beautiful ranch country down there. It would also appear spring has arrived there.
 
In the last two days spring has arrived. Water is running and bare ground is now showing. I know what you say about over the limit. I should of bought 88 but opted not to. Lots of bulls left I told myself! Well that bit me. Finally bought 157 and a cheaper 194. Sorry boys no pics yet. Hopefully pick up in a few days so I will post some then.
