We went to the Roundup yesterday. "Free" tickets from Northwest Farm Credit. It was customer appreciation day. Of course our free tickets were in the nose bleed section as far as possible from the chutes. And Pendleton is a huge arena. Every time they cracked a chute open the music guy would crank up the volume. So loud that I never heard the 8 second whistle blow. I have a friend who was sitting close to the chutes. I asked him if he could hear the whistle where he was. He said he never heard it a single time. The tickets were free and it sounds they do this every year. But I think it is our last time going to the roundup.
