Pickup truck shopping

7.3's best diesel engine for had. 6.0 and 6.4's would run WHEN the would run. I believe those 2 engines about broke ford. I have heard good things about the 6.7.

My 95 stroke gets a consistent 11-12 mpg feeding daily with a hydrabed and 1500 caker on it. No complaints whatsoever. I was driving a 98 chevy gaser getting 6 mpg. A buddy drives a 05 cummins identical setup to my stroke and gets 6 mpg's. Idling and short trips don't equate to good mileage.

My "girl getter truck" is a 01 stroke and I have had no issues with it. Has a small chip in it more for playing than mileage but it gets 14-15 and around 10 with trailer on.

:D :D My "girl getting" truck was a 1978 Dodge Macho Silver and Black . It had a 400, 4 barrel. It got such poor mileage I had to marry the girl as I couldn't afford to date driving that truck.
