Not that El Reno USA is really all that photogenic, but I felt the conviction of having failed to post any photos in such a long time. So, here's a couple!

This would be my new apartment. First time I've lived in one of these contraptions. Really not as bad as I thought it might be.

For the weekend, I have possession of a rather fun vehicle.

Local feedyard.

Oil's big business here. This is headquarters for a field 40 miles west of us.

The wheat fields down here are getting some green but are not exactly lush yet. Hopefully I can get some decent pictures of some stockers at some point over the next week or so.

The apartment building resembles a penitentury, do they lock you young offenders up at night?

Fancy rig, did you only keep the girl that owns it around for the weekend? :lol:

When you make your trek north are you planning on seeing more the the flat country or can we expect a visit?

They do keep a cop in the parking lot every night! Trying to keep things from getting too far out of hand around here. That fancy rig actually belongs to a feller from Indiana that owed my a favor, and my cattle buying rig (AKA the Lincoln) is out of commission right now, so I've been using it as a decoy to attract and capture females. :wink:

And as far as those darned white lines, that truck needs a country mile to hit them straight. :roll:

When I come up north, I sure couldn't tell you what I expect to see. I have no idea where in the province I'll be. But if there a chance to visit some of my Candian friends, I'll take advantage, eh?

Finally, for the record, I hate college. I've made some great friends and invaluable contacts, but this is like high school all over again. Kind of keeping me out of the cattle and pony game, but soon as ever I get that degree, I'll be rural bound.

Thanks for the photo's. Seeing different parts of the country is interesting to the point it made me realize I've not been out of my 'local' territory of area, between Pierre and Rapid City (east to west) and Philip and Kadoka
(north to south) in a several months No wonder I'm looking forward to business trips to Sioux Falls and Huron (SD Cattlemen annual meeting with Baxter Black as entertainer) in the next two weeks.

I'm sure sorry to hear you are not excited about college. What year are you in? Do youy have a definite goal? Are you taking any courses that challenge you abilities? Do I sound like a professional grandma???

Seriously, this should be a prettty exciting time in your life, seeing new places, finding subjects to help you get where you want to go in life while enjoying the journey. Looks like you ARE meeting new people, which may result in life long friendships that you will treasure more and more over the years. Just don't wake up some year and realize you wish you had gotten more out of college.

Oh I should be enjoying college because I'm on a full ride, Mom and Dad help pick up some expenses, and I haven't failed to meet my personal 4.0 standard in any class. There's plenty fun to be had on any given night, but that's just not my cup of tea. I really prefer to be out working and accomplishing things in real business, but I understand the value of this learning process. We're sure getting exposed to a whole lot, and I can't deny the importance of this stage. But, having a busted left wing and forever leaning right, I will be happy to get beyond a government funded institution and begin building my future as a hated capitalist.

Edit: Freshman year, ag business/animal science major. But I'm a big fan of lifelong learning even beyond my beloved field of agriculture.

Well, they do tell me I'm different anyway! :wink: I'll sure take it as a compliment coming from you though, FH. This does have some perks however. One Texan I gained the acquaintance of has gotten us front row seat to the national cutting horse finals in Fort Worth this December. Guess I'll be forced to enjoy it for a bit.
