I'd sure like to know what's wrong with this cow. Couple of days ago she started goose stepping with her left hind leg. Every step she takes is just like this one. Sometimes she kind of shakes it for a second in the position shown here before putting it back down and taking full weight on it.

That silouette, Almost looks like there is a bear in the cab of the tractor!

Trying to stay warm no doubt.

Y'know, funny you should say that. About 30 feet in front of that tractor is a chainsaw carving of a bear my wife made. I'm trying to decide if that's what we're seeing or if it's just coincidence.

Your wife runs a chainsaw? That is awesome.

My guess with your cow is that she has a piece of wood stuck between her hooves. About 1.5 inches long, .5 inch across and it will be stuck right up between and above the hoofs in the flesh part. I've had a couple like that over the years - if they can't dislodge it it will fester and eventually the whole foot will swell up.

Thanks for the photos.
I'm with Soapweed on the "little girl and dog" picture.

Good luck calving!!!

So far all we have gotten out of this storm is wind--and colder, of course.
The wind has died down some now; but it's early yet. The
snow map shows us on the edge of it. I hope no one gets the brunt
of the storm.

You may be right, but it seems strange that she puts all her weight on it (she has no limp, just that huge goose step... and it's all in slow motion)Maybe it only hurts when the pressure comes off the foot :???:

Silver what International tractor is that?Good pics.

it's 1486.... listed at 145 hp, but probably 185 is more likely.

Per, this is what she can do with a chainsaw when she's in a good mood. Somewhere I have a pic of her carving it...

Something like that is my guess also.
I'm GLAD to be snug and warm in California _ Mid 70's yesterday but way down to 64° today. Cold enough for My age.

One of the first requisites of a prospective spouse in BC. SHE must know how to cut the winters wood! 8) :D

Ya, but sometimes I actually hafta haul the wood into the house. Sometimes it seems like I have to do EVERYTHING around here.
