Saddletramp and his dad. His dad was a big help Saturday as we ran another bunch of yearling heifers through to give them their new permanent cow number and a year brand.

The little button has the same number as the big tag in the other ear. If the big tag gets lost, the little button tag can be read and a new tag installed at chute-side. We use Ritchey tags and grind in a new number when necessary. Also, we are leaving the heifers' calf tags in place for further reference, if needed.
