Just a high wind, and the water going over the spillway from the other side. Our nice warm weather went kapooie, but that is okay. It was bound to get cold again, sooner or later, and I'm kind of glad it was "sooner." This might keep the grass and hay from getting too far along too early in the season, which would really be a detriment if it got cold with hard freezes "later." As I sit here at the desk this morning, it is down to 19 degrees. Pretty chilly on the new babies, but the few that were born during the night seem to be alright.

22 right now with a high wind advisory.. Going to get all the wa up to 37 today.. This wouldn't be so cold if we weren't pushing 80 last week.. It would still be cold but not the shock it is right now... Looking at the forcast we are going to be cold through the weekend and than it will strat to creep back up to the 50's.. and even 60s.. I'm sure we will be in an upward trend after this last blast of winter...

I'm also glad this is happening April 4th instead of May 4th as it is a world of difference. The grass will take a bit of a hit now but not as much as some things would in May.. I can't imaigne how purpele the corn would be if it was in the ground right now. That would drive grain prices up just a tad...

Its 20 degrees here now was at 6 this morning wind is 20 to 30 mph from the nw its cold on top of that we have had 5 inches of rain in the last week plus 10" of snow yesterday so now we have 2 ft of mud covered by a foot of snow.Had 7 calves since noon yesterday all outside in the weather lost a 3 day old that got stepped on.

Your neighbor's bulls look pretty good are you inclined to puchase some of them??

We get froth on the creek too, when the water is movin at a perdy good clip, usually after a good hard rain. Looks almost like someone dumped some dishsoap in it.

My, how the inside of sale barns differ. Ya'lls is one big open pen. I'll hafta take pictures of ours next time I'm there. Course, ya'll sell a bunch at a time...here, they go thru one at a time, most of the time.

Thanks for postin the pictures..once again great shots. That one fella sittin in the salebarn cafe, with his hands clasped....he really looks like he's lookin forward to lunch LOL

They are very nice bulls, and I would be proud to own any of them. We are pretty well stocked on bulls, because I kept most of ours from last year and bought a few others earlier this spring. Otherwise I would sure be interested in these bulls.

Rob has wintered about two thirds of our replacement yearling heifers. He is planning to AI them to one of his bulls, which is also the sire to many of his sale bulls. I really like Rob's cattle. They are what I would call very functional and useful, besides having nice eye appeal.

I'd sure bid on some for anyone else if they so desired.

You captured a great windmill sunset and also the reflection on the creek...I'll bet those guys at the salebarn were wonderin why you would want their pictures..lol Just tell em..yur gonna make em famous here on ranchers..lol Thanks Soapweed...

Hey Soap, I too like the looks of those bulls. I've never heard of Rob Cook, but that's no surprise considering the number of bull sale ads that are in the papers these days. Never fails when I pick up the Tri-State Livestock News this time of year where I see a few bull sale ads from people I've never heard of. Does he get a lot of money for his bulls?

Robb (I just now see that there are two "b's" in Robb) and his wife, Dana, go by R & D Angus. Their bulls bring in the ballpark of what others bring. They are very nice bulls with super good dispostions. Robb won't sell a bull through his sale if they aren't gentle, and he showed me one nice bull that was a bit wild that he wasn't going to put through the ring. Robb and Dana have very useful cattle, and they are nice honest folks to deal with. If you want to give them a call, their number is 605-685-1085.

Thanks Soapweed. I'm thinking this is probably a good year to upgrade on bulls. That's a difficult "unplanned expense" to squeeze out of the cash flow, though.

You sure captured the waning hours of the day in a nice way Soapweed. I sure like the windmill photo! I think you are a brave man to take picures in the sale barn cafe. lol. I might have to whip my way out if I started taking pictures in our local sale barn cafe.

They are nice looking bulls. He seems like the kind of guy that should do a good job in growing your heifers for breeding.
