Had a guy call me yesterday and asked if I wanted to go help doctor some cattle for pink eye and pull his bulls. Of course I jumped at the chance. Went up north of Martin SD, into some country I had never been in before.
Started by pulling 3 bulls that were close to the pens. I already had "mine" in the pen, so I was watching the gate, while he brought the other around.
The dumb bulls wouldn't drive, and there was a canyon not far away, so all 4 of them ended up with a rope on them, to control their movements. Since I had the horse that pushes, my job was to push the bulls while he kept them sorta headed in the right direction.
Then it was off to find bad eyed cows. Never seen pink eye, where the retina had a hole in it the size of a pencil, but the country was nice.
Finally one from at home.
